Hatha Yoga focuses on correct body alignment principles that help with posture, develop body awareness, improve balance, strength and flexibility as well as increase energy and manage stress.  A regular yoga practice assists in the healing and prevention of a variety of ailments, including headaches, eye strain, fatigue, stiffness, and insomnia, as well as neck, back and wrist pain that result from repetitive working positions.  It also improves the quality of breathing which helps to calm the mind and relax the nervous system.

Dynamic Energy

Yoga Flow + Core  incorporates poses into a flow sequence or Sun Salutations format.  Flow creates dynamic energy that brings a cardiovascular element into the practice, facilitating an overall increase in health.  Yoga flow encourages meditation in motion.  A portion of the class is dedicated to Core strengthening poses.  Core exercises improve the strength of the supporting spinal muscles and the flexibility of the spine, counteracting the effect of long hours of sitting.  Having a healthy spine will keep you feeling younger and stronger.

Calm and Heal

Pain can affect our range of mobility, balance, the breath and even our ability to relax. This gentle yoga class blends together breath awareness, relaxation techniques and movements to strengthen muscles, improve energy level and mobility for anyone who is challenged by illness or the stiffness that comes with age, repetitive stress or injury. Meditation is also incorporated into the practice, a technique known to calm the pain centre in the brain and to increase the ability to deal with stress and anxiety.
